THE Music Talks AWARDS (MTA's)
The MTA will be the biggest night in the State of Louisiana's Independent Artist Market! Our mission is to educate, raise awareness and ensure that the contributions and achievements of marginalized Music Talks artists and creative industry professionals are acknowledged, documented, celebrated and archived into media, music and entertainment history. To support our missions, we will film the MTA's Awards live. Music Talks will rely heavily on tax deductible donations to support the production of this important event and video archives.
The MTA's is a branded entertainment platform that will provide activities and opportunities for companies/sponsors to be recognized by MTA's consumers who eagerly support brands that directly market to the MTA consumer market. The MTA's will be attended by principle tastemakers, celebrities, creative industry professionals and music enthusiast garnering the attention of mainstream and Music Talks media.
THE MTA TROPHY
The MTA trophy symbolizes the triumphant spirit of light and truth that our honorees and nominees represent.
The golden microphone represents speaking and living your truth. Music Talks honors the bravery and audacity of hope that all of our members uphold while embracing the independent music/entertainment industry.
The following awards will be given during the MTA Awards:
Visionary Award - Recognizes an individual for their innovative artistic expression, exemplary efforts, advancements and contributions to ensure inclusion and equality.
Lifetime Achievement Award - Recognizes an artists' contributions over the whole of a career.
Freedom Award - Presented to an artist who leads in the equality movement, using their artistic expression and platform to promote the message of inclusion and freedom of expression.
Living Legend Award - Recognizes an individual's contributions spanning the whole of their career of over at least 10 years, as well as their continued contributions and influence in the music and entertainment industry.
Spirit Award - Recognizes an individual who made an impactful breakthrough to make social change in the face of adversity to create more inclusion of representation and acknowledgement of Music Talks people.
Heritage Award - Honors an artist or individual who has advocated and dedicated their career to promote and encorage the inclusion of music,education and advocacy.
MTA MUSIC Icon Award - Recognizes an artist/individual whose creative achievements and contributions influenced a generation and beyond.

VOTING PROCESS
The Academy's voting members, participate in two rounds of voting:
(The Academey is a group of industry professionals)
SUBMISSION - Registered members enter their albums, singles and music videos released commercially according to the eligibility guidelines.
(Music must be released via the internet on iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon or recognized digital distributers. Physical CDs are also accepted.)
NOMINATION PROCESS - The first round of voting determines the finalists in each category.
WINNERS PROCESS - The second and final round of voting will determine the winners.
SCREENING - All entries are reveiwed and screened to ensure that entered recordings meet the eligibility guidelines and have been entered into appropriate category such as Dance/Electronica, Pop, R&B, Country, Rock, Inspirational, Jazz, Rap/Hip-Hop etc. This process is created to ensure that each entry meets eligibility, the technical merits of the recording is not judged during this process.
SPECIAL NOMINATION JUDGES PANEL - Additionnal nominations will be determined by judges compromised of recording and entertainment industry professionals.
VOTING RESULTS - The MTA winners will not be known until the MUSIC AWARDS ceremony. The names of the winners will be in sealed envelopes. To commemorate the AWARDS winners will be interviewed LIVE on the RED Carpet!
ROUND 2 FINAL VOTING - MTA will conduct voting via a digital voting platform administered by a third party provider. The second and final round of voting will be announced via email to current year voting members. To ensure the quality of the voting, registered members are given access to the genres fields plus the special recognition award categories. Votes will be calculated automatically via the third party voting platform
